The Azigbo Girl's Story
During one of TMG Empower’s early school outreaches at Mother of Mercy Girls Secondary School, Azigbo, something remarkable happened.
After the session, a student went home deeply inspired by what she had learned about technology and digital careers. Her mother had already arranged for her to start an apprenticeship in tailoring once exams were over. But that day, the girl told her mum she had changed her mind — she wanted to learn computer skills instead.
Her mother, curious and cautious, reached out to the school principal, Rev. Sr. Vivian to ask about the organisation that had visited. That single decision became a symbol for TMG Empower’s mission:
"When a girl is exposed to technology, her perspective and her future begins to expand"
The Sister confirmed that TMG Empower’s work was credible and life changing so the mother agreed.
The following week, the girl enrolled in a computer training programme instead of tailoring.
That single decision became a symbol for TMG Empower’s mission:
"When a girl is exposed to technology, her perspective and her future begins to expand"
